WordPress Default Shortlink Creation

With the release of wordpress 3.0 some cool new features has been added to wordpress, on the of the new feature is shortlink integration in wordpress which lets you generate a shortlink based on your own website URL.

In order to get a shortlink for a post it must be saved as draft or must be scheduled to that the permalink has been already created for the same.

Once a post has been saved as draft, you will see the new button on the top of the post saying Get Shortlink as shown in the image below.

In order to get shortlink for a post, click the button Get Shortlink and it will show you a message prompt window with the shortlink for the post which will get decoded directly from your site.
