Why You Should Not Use Refilled or Re Manufactured Cartridges

Recently we attended an event by HP Print, it was focussed on why you should not use refilled and re-manufactured cartridges. As HP is now coming up with low cost, energy saving cartridges with enhanced print quality and significant cost savings with the assurance of HP’s reliability.

Some reasons for which you should avoid using refilled cartridges are mentioned below.

1. Print Quality – The most dreadful fact about the re filled cartridges is their poor print quality.

2. Number Of Pages Printed – Number of pages that will get printed out of re filled or re manufactured cartridges can never be promised, they will always give less number of prints and how much prints you will get you never know.

3. Wastage Of Paper – There is more wastage of paper due to using re-filled and re-manufactured cartridges, due to faulty prints.

4. No Support, No Replacement – There is no support or replacement for re-filled or re-manufactured cartridges

The company also unveiled the results of new third-party studies commissioned by HP that confirm the superior quality and reliability of original HP inks and toners versus refilled brands.

I own an older Canon I455 printer that has never let me down. The cost of Canon brand cartridges for this unit has never dropped in price for over a year and a half. I use the Staples (Office Depot) house brand cartridges and have had great results. I also get approx 60% better yield out of both the color as well as the black. If printer manufacturers would lower the cost of their cartridges to a more reasonable level, I as well as more people out there would be more apt to by the brand name. On that note, HP has to be the second highest replacement cost for cartridges next to Lexmark. When the ink runs out on their printers, it is cheaper to replace the printer than it is the cartridges. I have tossed a lot of HP and Lexmark printers out. Never a Canon. They are cheap to maintain and just keep on going.

@Abhishek Nice post. I really agree with you that original cartridges is more efficient. we some times used refilled cartridges at our office but it didn’t last longed only around 1000 prints with bad printing quality, but the original cartridge always last long. I request you all who’s reading the post to use original cartridges only.
