Quickly Open Recently Used Programs, Apps On Android Phone

As soon as new and smarter mobile phones like latest Symbian phones, iPhone and Android based phones entered the market, a new concept of multitasking was introduced which was exactly similar to what we do on our computers.

Opening several programs at once on our desktop is the most common thing and switching between them is the next easiest step. We also know that computers have cache memory which helps us in opening frequently used or recently used programs very quickly, but as far as mobile phones are concerned the convenience of opening a particular program which was recently accessed is not there except in iPhone and android devices.

If you are an android user then this post will give you a very small but immensely useful tip on how to open recently accessed programs such as games, applications etc  in one or two seconds.

People who know  how to do it are lucky enough but for the rest we are here to explain. Introducing you with the feature, one can access the last eight programs that were opened and can open them once again without scrolling your way through the menu.

Quickly open recently accessed programs on android

The above shows the window that pops up when you long press the Home button present at the bottom of the screen. This way, by pressing Home button for a second or so will open this particular window where you can see the recently opened programs and any of them can be opened for there only. We guess it is a very useful tip and hope you do use it and make your ways more simple.

Why I Want To Buy iPad or iPad 2 When There Are Some Promising Android Tablets Available or Coming Soon

It been some time that my internal craving to get a tablet has increased, and now I want to get a tablet to make my life more digital. I have a great passion and love for gadgets I had used iphone 2g then iphone 3g and right now I am using iphone 4 which is best smartphone according to me, and when I say the best smartphone its not the apple fan boy which is saying this but it’s the geek in me and a user who loves the cool user interface of iphone and ease of use.

I never liked apple products only, but I bought the limited edition of Nexus one which is a great google phone running android, I love the how the UI in android, love the openness in android, as it becomes more available with different level of customizations. I said all the above things so that people who just hate apple and love android don’t say I am biased towards apple.

Now lets come to the point why I want to buy an iPad or upcoming iPad 2 when there are so many promising good tablet existing like Samsung Tab or some other great android tablet Motorola Xoom coming soon with Honeycomb 3.0 and with some really impressive hardware too.

Note: Before noting down my points, I agree with all those people who might say iPad sucks, it does not have any USB or HDMI port, it does not have camera and its not based on open source OS like android has so limited in functions and features.

My Reasons – Why I Want To Buy iPad or iPad 2 Then Any Other So Called Great Android Tablet

Operating System  – I think the OS running on iPad much better stable to run many apps together, and in case of apps crashing then any android tablet like Samsung Tab existing or available.

User Interface – Here, again I give this factor a great importance. iPad has a much better, responsive, less laggy user interface while using apps, switching in between them as compared to any other android tablet or device existing.

Fragmentation & No Integration - This is another bad thing which I see on android, where every OEM just come out with their own optimized version of android which works with their own hardware and even the upgrade to the next version is such a pain in any android device due to log time gap in between upgrade to next version of android. In short I want to say every device running android is different from each other, there is no integration which I see across all the device running the same OS, as it seems every android device is running a Jugad [ A Hindi Indian Word ] OS on the other hand this problem I don’t see at all when I see iOS optimized for iphone 4 or iPad.

Note: In order to know the meaning of Jugad, consult any Indian Engineer, he will tell you what does it mean if you can’t find it on google.

Battery – Short battery life is another problem which I see across all the android devices, each application you install and keep it running will have their bite from your android battery life, and it also make your user interface laggy and slow considerably which you can easily notice. I wont say this not at all happens in iphone or ipad but still it is very less and bearable, here you can kill the task  or apps that you think are eating up your battery to save it.

No Code Of Conduct  – In case of android, if I am a device manufacturer I can do what ever I want, I can take any bad slow hardware and some how make android running on it, people will buy it and then when OS does not respond to touch or seems laggy, users may not realize that it is hardware which is causing this. Google made android opensource, which gives advantage to some OEM so that they can do what ever they want with OS to make it work with their hardware, whether that approves some standard or not and finally people will curse the OS.

I waited for a 1 year after iPad launch to get to see if I can get better android tablet, but it looks like if this continues, as per my points above, I will never get to see a stable android device either a tablet or phone.

PS: This post is not complete, I may add some more points above as they come to my mind, please leave your comments if you agree or disagree with me on these points or even if you want to curse me for being an apple fan boy or add some point from your end which I have missed.

As I Say Always, I Am Not A Apple Fan Boy – I Just Love Their Products Not The Company

iPhone is no doubt the best smart phone in the market, since the time we started using smartphones,  we have seen lot of new phones in market, which just tried to copy the layout and design of iphone this include lot of android phones too.

However android is another great smartphone OS after iphone iOS, but still there is lot of things which needs to be improved in android phones like better battery life and OS needs to be same more stable across all the phones.

Let’s come to the point, that is if you are android phone user, you want the lock screen to be like iphone which allows you to slide to unlock type thing on the lock screen, you can install the software from android market called Simple Lockscreen as shown in the image below.

Google Android Mobile Phones Feature Comparison Online Gallery Launched

Android, a well known Operating system developed by Google. I will definitely mention that initially this OS was found in very number of phones but as the times passed, people started loving it and by the consequences you can see that now a days Android platform is used in most of the mobile phones these days. Brands like Sony, HTC, Samsung, Motorola and few more have clubbed up with this OS and people have always shown their thumbs up for these phones in the market (no matter if they are out of the range of a common man).

Now when you want to go for a phone equipped with Android platform, then the only approach that comes in our mind is to visit each and every site of the different brand names and then you will note down the names of some of the selected phones. It really becomes tedious to search the phone by tripping to different websites for a common feature. I always wanted to get a complete list of phone which have common OS, as our search will become lot easier than before.

Need not worry any more as Google has taken a step forward and they have designed a website for the mobiles which have Android as their OS platform and consist of all the other Google applications for mobiles. Now in this website you can find all the cell phones whether they are of different make and different subscribers. But the only problem is that, it will not enlist the phones which are available in our country. As you can see from the snapshot shown above that there are three parameters on the left hand, which are subscriber’s name, the brand name and the name of the country in which they are available.

So, you can select your mobile phone from there, specially when you are interested in buying a phone which is completed handled by Google. I will comment that this was really a very good step taken by Google, as they generally do not concentrate more on the mobile services and gadgets. But still, it was a nice effort towards mobile freaks. We will try our best to keep you updated with this news. Meanwhile if you have any information which can be shared among other users then do not hesitate in doing so. Just put that down in the comments sections. We will be glad to share it. Have a Good Day!!!
