Stop, Prevent Visits Tracking By Websites Using Google Analytics Script

Google Analytics team has released new browser extension which supports Internet Explorer (versions 7 and 8), Google Chrome (4.x and higher), and Mozilla Firefox (3.5 and higher).

They have released this addon in order to provide website visitors with more choice about how their data is collected by Google Analytics, Its called Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. The add-on communicates with the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js) to indicate that information about the website visit should not be sent to Google Analytics.

So, if you don’t want your visits to be tracked you can install this addon with support for popular internet browsers, in order to download this addon for any browser we recommend to point to addon webpage with that browser itself.

I am not sure, how many users are going to install this addon as the data collected by google analytics script are IP address, location, operating system, browser they are using etc, there wont be many users who would actually want to install this addon as it seems.
