well i have been scratching my head for weeks on how to install xp on a vista system, this actually works!! i now have xp and vista. Many thanks yours paul.

Great tip, however, I have a special request. How can I disable REMOVE button in the Virtual PC Startup Window. I have had accidental incident where people have removed the Virtual PC than ‘start’ it. The Remove & Start button are darn too close to each other. Does anyone have directions to do this? I know that I can copy the Virtual PC and put it somewhere else safely. But, more pratical sense that I do not want to have to go to the computer everytime it is an issue. Just a function to disable it would help a great deal.

i had the same problem as you. but i think i just figured it out.
hear this:
go to the virtual machine additions folder in your virtual OS then start the vpcmap.exe (you’ll notice that its the folder sharing service)
hope this works for you too

Thanks for the tip about sharing folders between a virtual machine and the host! I had wasted toooo much time trying to install a network between the two, which never did work. Sweet!

Hi, I have the same problem as NCH (Shared Folders appears to be “not installed” even if virtual machine additions are installed and the VM is running).
Any suggestion?
