There are times when you want to find out all the computers and other wifi enabled devices like mobile phones and tablets are connected to your wifi router network, this normally happen when they steal your wifi network due to no or weak encryption technique. You can read our previous post on how to find and disconnect un authorized users from your wifi network.
Now if you want to find out complete details like devices and computer names, their mac address etc you can use the freeware called Wireless Network Watcher is a small utility that scans your wireless network and displays the list of all computers and devices that are currently connected to your network. You can easily identify which are your devices with their name and mac address as shown in the image below.
Before you can start using this program, you will first need to select the wireless network adapter in the software with which it will scan and find other devices connected to the wifi network, do as shown in the image below. Please note you can only find connected device with this software but you cannot disconnect the devices from your wifi network unless you change your wifi network password or apply strong encryption.
Run the software and go to advanced options or press f9
Now select the wireless adaptor or Ethernet adaptor here for your laptop or computer with which you are connected to your wifi network as shown in the image below.
then you will see the list of all devices connected to your network as shown in the image below.
You just need to double click any device in the list to view detailed information which might help you to identify whether its your or some one else device connected to your wifi home network as shown in the image below.
How To Run Wireless Network Watcher & Requirements
Wireless Network Watcher doesn’t require any installation process or additional dll files. In order to start using it, simply extract the executable file (WNetWatcher.exe) from the zip file, and run it. This utility works on Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003/2008, Windows Vista, and Windows 7.
