Now from the name of this tool you can get an idea about the functionality of this tool. It is used to rename the 4 icons which are generally found on your Desktop i.e. My Computer, Recycle Bin, My Documents and My Network Place. These are the four icons which are placed on your Desktop by the system. In this post we will tell you that how you can use this tool.

You can see the screen shot of the tool right pasted here. Now you can see all the named that I have mentioned on the tool, Now my desktop has only one icon among them so you can see only a single change. In Windows XP you do not have any feature to rename these icons but as you proceed towards the latest version of Windows, you will see that later on this feature was enabled for the users. The download link has been mentioned at the bottom of the post of the post.

After you download it just the launch the exe file of this tool and then you will see an application windows similar to that one shown above, but all the fields will be blank. Before going further let me tell you that you cannot use this tool if you have 64-bit version of OS, anyhow even if you launch this tool on that version then it will show you a dialogue displaying that this tool will not run on this computer.

So, preferably all the XP users can take advantage of this tool, the size of this tool is around 160KB and it is portable, so just remember to keep it in a portable storage device. We have used this tool on Windows 7, so please let us know if you face any problem while using this tool.
