One of the major issue for every user of computer system is virus and all other malware files which not only corrupts the data but also make system pretty slow. Lots of major software has been introduced in the market earlier and are being used by the organizations and even by the individual users in order to protect their system in best possible manner. But sometimes the condition becomes so worse that it becomes difficult even to start that infected PC. Here, we present one of the latest launched application in the form of Microsoft Standalone System Sweeper, which is an standalone and freely available application.
It is a recovery tool that can help you start an infected PC and perform an offline scan to help identify and remove malware, virus, trojans and infected files from your system. The program can only be installed either on a USB drive or a blank CD/DVD disc and it automatically creates a bootable media that can be used to recover your system in the event of a malware or virus infection.
When you start the program, it will load the setup data from the Internet. As said earlier, in order to use it you need to boot from the disc or USB device which in turn loads the tool that gives you the options to scan the PC and recover it. It does so by loading the Windows Preinstall Environment for running the Microsoft Standalone System Sweeper application in order to scan and remove the virus and malware present in the system.
The program requires a recent Windows operating system, which can be any version from Windows XP SP3 to Windows 7. You need to make sure to download the right program version which must be according to your operating system. If you have a 32-bit operating system, then you need to download and install the 32-bit version of System Sweeper, if you run a 64-bit operating system then you need to download the 64-bit version. After you install it in a CD or DVD, you get this kind of message on your screen.
Although it is a very helpful product, but if you compare it with other available application such as antivirus applications, etc. then we can say that Microsoft Standalone System Sweeper isn’t a revolutionary product. Most other antivirus vendors have been offering system rescue disks for a long time. However, it’s nice to see Microsoft coming up with this application and it looks like that they are getting pretty serious about offering a comprehensive set of tools for tackling malware infections.
