Many a times, we need to have all our images of a fixed size for various purposes like for a presentation, for office documents, for sharing our pictures on different social networking sites and many more. Since, Windows does not provide us the option of image resizing so, we have to use certain image editing tools for it. We have earlier reviewed about some of these tools like Resize my photos, PicResizer and Image Converter.
Though these tools are easy to use and are available free of cost but still using a tool frequently for resizing a photo is a bit inconvenient. For this, there is a registry hack called Image Resizer for windows that allows you to resize more than one images by just going in the right-click menu.
Image Resizer is basically a clone of the Image Resizer Powertoy for windows xp. It is mainly created to extend support to non-XP and 64-bit versions of Windows (including 2000, Vista & 7) and is available for both 32-bit as well as 64-bit versions individually.
After installation, it will add the option of ‘Resize Pictures’ in the right-click menu of image files in windows explorer to resize them. You can also select many images and resize them to a particular size in one go.
This will open a new window of Resize Pictures where you can select the required size of the image from the given options (small, medium, large or for mobile devices). It allows you to create the resized copies of one or more selected pictures and store them in the current folder only.
You can also customize the size that is, if you want a particular sized photo of your desire then, click on the ‘Advanced’ option and fill the desired size in the ‘Custom’ option. You can also choose the option of not creating a new image instead create changes in the original one. It also provides the option of not allowing you to make the image bigger than the original one to maintain the quality of the images.
After selecting the desired options, just select ‘ok’ and its done.
In short, it is of great utility especially for people who need images of a particular size only for their work.
