Prevent Computer From Getting Into Sleep Mode With Insomnia

To save power and energy, most Windows computers are configures to sleep after a few minutes of inactivity. This time interval is usually 15 or 30 minutes.

Consider yourself delivering a long presentation using your laptop when you are explaining certain slide and your laptop goes into sleep because it was in idle state for certain amount of time.

Consider that you left your laptop running a virus scan and after 30 minutes or so the computer goes into sleep mode because of inactivity.

Consider that you are watching a movie on your computer with some player other than media player and your computer goes into sleep more every 30 minutes or so.

In this article I will review a small and free tool called Insomnia which can save you from all these hassles.

Insomnia is a very small and lightweight freeware tool which prevents the Windows computer from going into sleep mode until it is running.

Insomnia is a small tool which is an exe file of about 96 KB on disk space but takes approx. 15MB in memory space while it is running.
