We recently told you about Microsoft live spaces partnered with wordpress and around 30 millions users will now migrate live spaces blogs data to wordpress blogs. All the Live Space blog users will have around approximately 6 months to migrate their live spaces blogs and data like comments, posts etc.
If you have a live spaces blog and would like to know how can you move all the data from live space blog to wordpress blog including all posts, comments etc then follow the procedure given below.
1. Go to your live space blog and login to the dashboard
2. Now select to download your live space blog to your computer
3. You can be there with live spaces too, as it will shutdown after 6 months you can also migrate later.
4. Now Delete your live space blog, you will see this option there – but first make sure that you have the downloaded blog backup on your computer.
As you are already logged into your live spaces dashboard you You may be prompted to begin this upgrade when you log in to your Windows Live Space blog to wordpress blog.
Click to connect everything together in the upgrade process. If you already have a WordPress.com account, you can also enter that information here if you would prefer to bring your Live Space under your existing account.
Once you’ve clicked Connect button, you will be asked to log in to your Windows Live ID to link your Space to WordPress.com
Fill in your account information and click Connect to continue. If you are already logged in to Windows Live, all you’ll need to do is click Connect.
If you would prefer not to connect your new WordPress.com site to your Windows Live Messenger account, you can click No thanks instead
Now you can either use your old wordpress account or else you can create one
Click Signup and move on to Step Four.
Once all your content from Windows Live Spaces to WordPress.com. You’ll see this confirmation screen with message saying migration complete.
Now you can access you blog with all old posts, comments and other data imported to wordpress.com blog. Yay!
