Most of the people especially in corporate world are dependent on Outlook because it is a simple desktop email client which can be synchronized with any email server and can also be used to store contacts, appointments, tasks and notes etc. It is very easy to send emails in Outlook and just like most of the mail servers, unfortunately Outlook too doesn’t allow you to send or receive files like .exe, .url, .reg etc for the security reasons as these attachments may contain potentially dangerous viruses or other malwares which may damage the system.
So a simple solution of this problem is by using a tool named CodeTwo Attach Unblocker. It is a very simple tool and it allows fast and convenient configuration of Microsoft Outlook to unblock attachments formats which are by default blocked by Outlook. This tool will install directly in Microsoft Outlook and will ensure quick and convenient editing.
Once it get installed, it will show you the following notification whenever you run your Outlook. Put a tick mark on checkbox at bottom if you don’t want to see this notification every time you run the Microsoft Outlook.
Once you install this tool, you can simply edit the settings of your Outlook to unblock the extensions which you want to receive or have already received. So in order to define the attachments type that shouldn’t be blocked, simply click on Tools>Options from the top menu. Then you will see the following window.
Click on CodeTwo Attach Unblocker option from the tab given at top and then write the name of extension you want to unblock in the box. After that click on Add to add that particular extension. Similarly you can add any number of extensions and in future if you want to remove any extension then simply select that particular extension and then click on Remove.
Once you have added all the extension which you want to unblock, simply close your Outlook and then restart it. You will see that now the Outlook will no longer block any of those attachments and you will even be able to see previously received attachments and also download them to the hard drive of your system.
You can see below that I have used this tool to attach an exe file in Outlook. Similarly after using this tool, you will also be able to send and receive those blocked attachments.
The size of CodeTwo Attach Unblocker is 3.34 Mb and after installing it will integrate itself in the Microsoft Outlook. This tool is compatible with all the versions of Windows and Microsoft Outlook version 98 or higher and has been tested successfully on Windows 7 Ultimate-32 bit edition with Microsoft Outlook 2007. This tool is available in both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions.
