How To Use Edge / Gprs Connection iPhone 3G, 3GS, 2G On Your Computer For Internet Browsing Via Internet Tethering

Recently I have playing around the network settings on my iphone 3G, I just noticed Airtel India has allowed Internet Tethering for iphone users using airtel connection. Internet Tethering allows you to browse internet on your computer using the gprs / edge connection of your iphone.

Here is how you can enable and use Internet Tethering on your iphone.

Go to Settings >> General >> Network and tap the option Internet Tethering [ It should be OFF by default ]

Under Internet Tethering you will have the option of connecting your iphone to your computer via USB or Bluetooth. So, you can either use Internet Tethering via USB or Bluetooth.

Turn Internet Tethering on and select the option which suits you. [ By Default It will support both USB and Bluetooth together ]

    Hello abhishek,

i know you’ve explained it many times in the comments section but i need clarity on one thing, ive got a N95 and unlimited airtel mobile office service. im planning to get a factory unlocked IPHONE 3GS from dubai. My only doubt is will push notifications (gmail, yahoo, fastmail, exchange) work on if i transfer my current sim to the iphone 3gs(and wait for the settings). This is the only thing thats stalling my decision.
    Awaiting your response…
