There are many times when you would want to end a particular process in windows xp for any reason.

Most of the times you are able to end a process in a regular way just by closing the window associated with that program but some times it goes in a hang state called as Not Responding state in windows.

So at that point of time if you want end a process immediately ,I would recommend end it using task manager

1. Press ctrl+shift+esc to launch task manager

2. click on the process tab locate the program exe, then click it and press End key

3. click again on the end process button on the newly opened small window.

Same process goes if you want to end the process immediately in windows vista.
