Facebook Launched High Resolutions Photo Uploads, Light Box Photos View and Bulk Tagging

Facebook has recently made an announcement of some great new features rolling out soon on facebook which includes Users will be able to upload and download high resolution photos, quickly view photos in a pop-up light box view without leaving the page they are currently viewing, utilize two bulk tagging features to tag one person in multiple photos simultaneously, and use a streamlined and more reliable Flash uploading tool.

High Resolution Photos

Facebook is increasing size of the photos stored from 720 pixels to 2048 pixels on the largest edge, for an 8 times increase overall. You can see some albums with high resolution pictures on facebook here and here


Light Box Photo Viewer

The new photo viewer makes it simpler and faster to navigate photos. You can now view photos and even whole albums without even having to go to a new page. Instead, the photo opens in the center of your screen, and you close it when you’re done. There’s no need to go back and forth between pages or reload the page.


Bulk Tagging and Easy Uploading

The facebook photo uploader to become more stable and reliable. It will use the latest Flash technology, so that your experience getting photos onto Facebook is an easy one—especially when you have lots of them. While this change is mostly behind the scenes, we think you’ll notice a big improvement.


All of these changes will be rolled out soon on facebook, so if you don’t see them it might take some days to be available for you.
