Advertisements
Desktops is FREE utlity which allows you organise your applications in between four multiple desktops, this is the first virtual desktop tool released my Microsoft.
Desktops uses separate windows desktop objects for each virtual desktop and easy switching in between them with easy shortcuts key you define at the time of launching the application.
If you have not defined any shortcuts for these virtual desktops then by default you can switch in between the desktop by pressing alt+1 for the first desktop, alt+2 for the second desktop and so on till the 4th desktop.
Although this application allows you to set custom shortcuts to switch in between various desktops.
You can also set Desktops to run automatically at startup by clicking the checkbox bottom left which says Run automatically at logon.

Looks useful, I’ll try it, thanks!
Hi there
I enjoy another virtual desktop app called Windows Pager ( http://windowspager.sourceforge.net/ )
Thanks for nice post.
I tried it– it made my system slower and unresponsive and sometimes even crashed my programs (- and this in Windows XP). This is nowhere even close to Linux virtual desktops. The desktops or workspaces in Ubuntu are so snappy or fast that when you switch to Windows you miss them a lot.
