Close All Finder Windows In Mac OS X With One Click
Finder is the default file manager included with Mac OS X. Since there is no ‘cut’ option in Finder, many a times, to move stuff around, you would find that you open a lot of Finder windows to drag and drop or to move files from one directory to another. I do this a lot with movies, music and TV shows.
Here is a tip that will allow you to close all open Finder windows with 1 click (or keyboard combo).
To close windows one at a time, you can either:
- Click the small red button on the top-left corner of the window, or
- You can press Cmd + W.
To close all open windows simultaneously, you can
- Hold down the Option key, and then click the red button on any open Finder window, or
- Press Cmd + Option + W.
You can use any of the two above methods to close all Finder windows together. Its these small hidden hacks in Mac OS X that make me love it even more for its ease of use and intuitiveness!
