While browsing various sites on internet, you must have noticed that when you open some sites, an advertisement in image or video form opens automatically in another window. You always find it little annoying and mostly ignore those advertisements and close those windows, but can you imagine that these advertisement’s content provider could develop your browsing preference profile.
So today we will be telling you about a tool for internet explorer 8 using which you can prevent yourself from advertisements content provider to collect information about you. Well the name of this tool is InPrivate Browsing Manager. You must be wondering what is the meaning of your browser profile? How advertisements can track your browser preference?
Actually when you visit a site there may be some other advertisement providers or third-party websites which provides revenue to that particular site for publishing their advertisement. So your visiting information is not only send to site which you are visiting, but also to these third-party websites. Now there could be possibility that a particular third-party content provider provides advertisements to other sites too which you usually visit.
Hence if these third-party content providers could fetch your browser preferences i.e sites which you visit mostly, then they can use this data in a number of ways like analysis or serving targeted advertisements etc. Normally these advertisement content is displayed seamlessly in form of an embedded video or image. So in order to prevent yourself from this problem, you can use InPrivate Browsing.
You can enable this option by clicking on Safety tab of you internet explorer 8 screen and then enabling the InPrivate Filtering option from the menu as shown above. You can also use the shortcut Ctrl+Shift+F to enable this option. But the problem with InPrivate Filtering is that it is disabled automatically as you close your internet explorer and needs to be enabled again at every new session.
So in order to make this option automatically on as you open your internet explorer, you can use a tool called InPrivateBrowsing Manager. When you run the installation file of this tool, you will see a window as shown below.
Now you just need to mark the option Auto Run InPrivate Filtering and Add Filter to InPrivate. After this as you can see above you can set filter as Small Filter(740 items) or Large filter (3966 items) depending on your browsing usage. If you visit large number of sites then choose large filter else choose small filter option. After doing all the settings press Apply and now your InPrivate Filtering option will be automatically selected every time you open your IE 8 and will analyse the web content on the webpages you visit, and check if the same content being used on a number of websites. Hence it will permanently protect your browsing information.
The size of this tool is 128 Kb and requires no installation. This tool is compatible with all the versions of Windows and has been tested successfully on Windows 7-32 bit edition with 1Gb RAM and 2.8 GHz processor.
