You might have a Digg account and like to follow and participate in various Digg. You might also be using Mozilla Firefox a lot. In such a situation, it would be nice if you could keep track of you Digg account and the activities in Digg from your Firefox browser. As it turns out, there is a cluster of Firefox add-ons that let you exactly that.

Digg Firefox Extension: If you add this add-on to your Firefox, then following the “Digg” tracks becomes quite a breeze. Whenever you browse a page, this add-on will display whether or not that particular page has been submitted to Digg. If not, you can just click on the add-on to do a simple, one-click “digg”- ing for that page. If yes, you will be able to see further Digg details about that page – number of digs for that page, number of comments, sort summary of the page and whether other stories have been submitted to Digg from the same URL and/or domain.

Digg Toolbar: This functions in a similar way to Digg Firefox Extension while adding a few more nifty features:

A. Latest Popular Content: Shows the summary of the latest story that has become popular on Digg, off late in a neat little summary box at the end bottom of the browser. You can chose to show only the digs you want here.

B. Following Friends: Sign in with the Digg user name to see what your friends are up to in the Digg-o-sphere.

C. Customizable Notification Feature: You can control the length, breadth and placement of this add-on.

Digg Sidebar: This add-on allows you to keep track of the Digg stories . It uses the Digg API to retrieve Digg data, displays other Digg details like Digg counts and comments and also sports an indicator that displays new and/or unread stories.

Interclue: There is one problem, that occasionally pops up when you are following Digg. Unwanted links-i.e. malwares, broken links and phishing sites sometime find their way through the Digg-o-sphere. Now this cool add-on, provides the nice feature of finding whether a link belongs to any of these, or, if it is a valid link, all the link information about it. Interclue is not a Digg-only add-on though, it works well with other bookmarking sites as well as Google, Yahoo, Bing, Google Reader, Bloglines etc.
